House Intensive Day is an opportunity for all the houses to build stronger relationships with their group members, gain a better understanding of their service learning projects, and evaluate the group's goal(s).  This year’s House Intensive was very meaningful in many ways for us.  Since half of the group has been working together for the first time, we value this special time to engage in activities to get to know each other better.

We began our morning with breakfast, activities, and conversations.  The activities mainly focused on communication and working as a team.  We participated in an obstacle course. Sixth graders against 7th and 8th graders.  After two cycles, the sixth graders won.

We then visited Ms. Maria R. at the Cypress Hills Child Care Center.  There we learned about the importance of demonstrating CARE, following through with our projects.  We then helped Ms. Maria plan for her Thanksgiving Drive, by mailing out letters and making phone calls.

We ended a long day’s work with lunch at Tavares Restaurant.
